Podiatrists are specialist health care professionals who have been trained to diagnose, assess and treat abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs.\u00a0 People often seek the help of a Podiatrist for help with nails that are proving tricky to cut or because of painful corns or callus caused by shoe friction.\u00a0 Some people attend for advice and reassurance.<\/p>

I am more than happy to help with all problems and no ailment is too small or trivial.<\/p>

Foot discomfort or pain may also arise from complications of older age.\u00a0 Many people are now taking complex and multiple medications to help manage long term conditions such as diabetes, peripheral vascular\/arterial disease, rheumatoid arthritis and Parkinson’s disease.<\/p>

Sometimes nail shapes can be very awkward and cause ingrowing toe nails.\u00a0 Often these can be managed with routine treatments however, some may require nail surgery to remove a portion of the nail.\u00a0 Toe nail surgery is available.\u00a0 If surgery is indicated, pre-operative assessment(s) are required and only performed with a local anaesthetic.\u00a0 Nail surgery is never undertaken at the first appointment.<\/p>

Other foot problems can include callus and sometimes ulcers due to altered gait due strokes or orthopaedic problems, heel and arch pain, skin problems and fungal toe nails.<\/p>

People suffering from reduced feeling (neuropathy) and reduced immunity (such as those diagnosed with diabetes – type 1 or 2 – and poor blood flow and people who are prescribed\u00a0 steroids or people undertaking chemotherapy) or people taking other high risk medication such as Warfarin or Rivaroxaban may benefit from regular visits to an HCPC Registered Podiatrist.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
